Well, I've got the camera working again so without further fanfare, here is my armory...

Oddly enough, I am still not finished with the setup...contemplating some future changes to the M4...but for now methinks this will do nicely :D :D
Also, I haven't posted pics of my tactical clothing and other gear yet so once I have the time to take some self-portraits, you'll get to see that stuff as well.

Update 1

I had a bit-o-time on my hands today so I used it to take updated photos of my armory. The newest items are the LaRue Tactical RAS, adjustable laser, HPA stock adapter, (replica) Safariland 6004 holster and Eye Tactical face shield. Sadly, I ran out of decent light; my camera won't white balance on halogen lightning very well, with which to take self-portraits. Therefore my apologies to Domen but they will have to wait a bit longer.

Anyway, here they are: FlyGuy's RAP4 Armory Pics v2.0

Image
Description: RAP4 METS M4, HPA stock, 2x45gm CO2 stock tanks, CP-Gear 2pt sling, Master trigger lock, 5.56 Magpuls, Aimpoint 3x magnifier w/LaRue FTS mount, genuine EOTech 551 HWS, RAM50 (Sig 226) pistol, genuine TLR-2 tactical laser/torch, Eye Tactical face shield w/replica PAGST, replica Safariland 6004 drop-leg holster, Eagle SAS dump pouch, Hatch shooter's gloves, Parklands knee/elbow pads, RAP4 barrel cover & shell catcher. Not shown -- Parklands black replica CF Tac-vest, black Propper TAC-U combat shirt/pants, Palmers Pursuit remote line w/stabilizer, Motorola GP-68 UHF radio, Devgru Frogman (TASC-1) headset

Image
Description: LaRue Tactical 7.0" FF RAS - "Live Free or Die"

Image
Description: Lots-o-stuff!

Image
Description: RAP4 HPA adapter tube for M4 collapsable stocks. 45º air fitting not included...installed separately with much frustration, a few choice words, and many attempts at sealing leaky threads (PS: forget teflon tape, red Loc-tite and thread dope finally did the trick)

Image
Description: RAP4 M4 METS with LaRue Tactical 7" FF-RAS, rubber-covered VFG, Pelican M6 tac-light, LXGD adjustable red laser, and RAM50 with TLR-2 tactical torch/laser sight

Image
Description: Eye Tactical face shield w/replica PASGT helmet

Image
Description: This end means business...

Image
Description: Real EOTech 551, LaRue 3x FTS mount, and RAM50 (Sig 226R) with Streamlight TLR-2

Well, I hope you folks like them. As you can see, it's been a slow but steady progression AND learning curves galore from where I started to where I am now. I am quite certain however that this is as far as I wish to go with .43 RAMs at the moment. Besides, I do have the BT TM-7 (see earlier pics) for fields that only allow .68 markers, so I am fairly well covered which means the next stop is either going to be airsoft or finally diving wallet-first into the uber-expensive world of Canon DSLRs and L-series lenses.

Update 3

With apologies to Domen for taking so long, I've managed to cobble together some shameless self-portraits. I am not entirely happy with the results but it's tough to do this kind of thing without a remote shutter release on the camera. As you can see, I wasn't really pushing for a unit/force-specific look but rather an overall impression of a SWAT or Special Forces type of assaulter. Even though I was aiming well off to the left of the camera, that TLR-2 tac light/laser is so bright, it still almost over-exposed one of the pictures! It will give you serious but thankfully temporary retina spots if I shine the flashlight directly on you!! FYI...the radio on my left side is a MOT GP68 and I'm using a Devgru Frogman (TASC-1) headset with it. The rest of the gear you've already seen from previous posts in this thread.

What I really need to make this work is to get rid of that craptacular CF TacVest replica and find a nice molle plate carrier that actually fits me properly and won't break my bank. Also, a set of Bolle T800's or ESS Profile NVG Turbofans (can use them for skiing as well) would be nicer than the paintball thermals you see in the pics. Otherwise, the only things you don't see are my Eye Tactical mask (can't see skull face if I'm wearing it), my leather boots (not wearing them inside) and the remote line/Palmers stabilizer and air tank on my back as I couldn't be bothered hooking it up just for pics.

Yep, that's me alright!

Stop or I WILL shoot you!

Anyhow, hope you like'em. Any comments or suggestions welcome of course. Now I have to get moving on my CADPAT-TW and AR load-outs for the upcoming outdoor season.

Update 4

Ok, I know this is a paintball forum and I have by no means abandoned flinging .43 or .68 cal projectiles at my friends, but I thought this latest (airsoft) addition to my collection would be of interest to some of the inhabitants here...ok DT, you can stop drooling now!!

This has been an ongoing project of mine since February '09 and the original rifle was acquired with the following components...

M4 Details:
  • WA based, 80% upgrades
  • G&P metal body (NSWC Crane)
  • G&P steel outer barrel kit / stock
  • Prime WA hop-up
  • PDI 6.01 inner barrel -- the secret to its hard shooting (400 fps with .2g BB) 8-)
  • G&P 120% hammer spring
  • G&P bolt stop
  • G&P mag catch
  • Upgrade WA nozzle with white valve
  • 2 WA magazines with G&P o-ring kits installed, spare kits included
Original pics:
ImageImage

I would have preferred a CF or Colt metal body but in this case, beggars can't be choosers and I knew the sale wouldn't last long so I went for it.

Once received, I set to work figuring out just what I wanted to do with the rifle. In the end after much thinking, plowing through picture threads and looking at my now wafer-thin wallet I came up with a rather simple plan. In keeping with my first desired impression; namely that of generic SWAT/SF assaulters which generally wear all-black as well, I decided to keep it "Painted Black" (good tune, thanks Mick).

Well, several months and more than a few $$ later, this is where it's at so far. Some of the accessories such as the EO-551 and the AP 3x mag w/FTS mount you've seen previously in my photo gallery, but others are new. It has had almost 1000 rounds through it and a full day skirmishing @ FR with only a minor malfunction since corrected. Playing with it is more akin to shooting BA rifles in that you had better pick your shots carefully instead of just hosing the opposite side with BB's AEG style. Accurate aiming at longer ranges on full-auto is almost impossible due to the recoil and muzzle climb -- kicks very much like a .22LR -- so semi-auto shooting is the order for the day for long shots, and I guess FA for 50 ft or less would probably be ok.

M4 Details: All of the previous list plus the following...
  • Genuine EoTech 551.A65 HWS
  • Genuine Magpul MIAD grip, ASAP sling plate, MS2 Sling
  • Genuine UTG carbine buffer from Wolverines -- original buffer pad shattered, wanted a replacement pad from Buffer Tech. but can you believe it's bloody ITAR restricted!! Image
  • G&P anti-rotation links -- almost mandatory - hammer and trigger pins work themselves out under sustained firing, use blue loctite on screws or you'll lose them
  • RA-Tech complete front-adjustable NPAS w/aluminum nozzle -- gun shoots quite hot out of the box, required item to make it skirmish-able for some fields
  • PTS Magpul CTR stock, MOE handguard
  • King Arms folding rear BUIS
  • Aimpoint 3x magnifier w/LaRue FTS QD mount
  • G&P AN/PEQ-2 tactical aiming laser & LED light
  • UltraFire 200+ lumen tactical flashlight w/strobe
  • Tango Down QD VFG
  • 3x Bomber magazines
  • CQD front sling attachment loop
  • Blank firing adapter
  • Master trigger lock
Current configuration:

Normally, I wouldn't have everything mounted on the gun all at once as shown in the pics as that makes it quite a heavy beast to lug around. For normal use, I would tend to go with just the EO-551 and carry the 200 lumen flashlight in a pouch in case it's needed, or mount the PEQ-2 and leave the flashlight in its pouch. I find that with the rather substantial recoil, it's practically impossible to use the 3x mag and follow your shots at the same time. The mag IS good however for spotting your foe down-range.

At any rate, comments welcome (including critics) as this has been both an expensive but enjoyable learning experience for me and the learning is by no means finished.

Cheers!

Thanks DT...I think. The Parklands replica vest isn't quite as ajustable as the real one made by (not sure but methinks so) Peerless so either I had the shoulder straps overlapping too much, or (more likely) my damn pants had slipped down with the weight of all the attachments on my duty belt. I've since taken to wearing suspenders so that'll help keep things "in perspective". That, and climbing the 17 flights to my apartment every day.

It's rather unfortunate that Paintball Adventures folded as there went the only "local", indoor, RAM marker-friendly establishment, so I haven't updated nor fired my toys for some time now. I think SOF Paintball does allow but it'll have to wait until this spring to find out as they're closed for the winter.

I still have my BT TM7 paintball marker along with the Tippmann TPX pistol so I suppose I could just fling regular paintballs, but where's the fun in that?

Regarding the airsoft armory, I do have changes to report but have been somewhat procrastinating at taking pics. I've replaced the front rail with a CASV-EL (almost bought a genuine Vltor version but decided not to at last minute), and have added a genuine Magpul B.A.D. lever -- that took a Dremel tool and careful/patient work to make it fit properly onto a G&P bolt stop. I've also added a milspec GEN1+ NVRS, which I may end-up selling if my GEN3 monocular comes through.

However, that's only how I've spent the past 10% of my time lately. The other 90% has been stolen by my employer so nothing much else to report...

My G&P launcher slid right on without any wiggles.I'm saving up for a INO M16
length barrel from ra tech and affixing a sp M203 with hand guard, next will be
a G&P all metal 870 short and long barrels for a masterkey setup.
Let me know about the GEN1 NVS,I almost bought the one Jugglezz had for sale.
I'm still waiting for my nozzle!!!

I talked with Wil and as a special case, he'd authorize pending having a look at how the M4 performs -- no FA though, semi-only. He doesn't seem to have a problem with the pistols however so that's ok.

Truth be told though, CQB is a ridiculous PITA to get to from where I live. I would have to run the gauntlet of Toronto traffic right down into the heart of the "Beast", and that's not a drive I relish doing. One of these days perhaps but right now, I am far too busy with work to even contemplate it. My weekends from now until end of March are pretty much toast!

Ideally, I'd also like to acquire a complete upper including CQB-length steel barrel with a 6.01 tb and perhaps a DD Lite Rail, but what I have now will have to do because if I end up purchasing the monocular, it will thoroughly deplete my airsoft budget for the entire year. I'll definitely let you know about the NVRS first before I contemplate parting with it, should it come to that. I do kinda like it but the monocle may be the better way to go for me in the long run.

Did you hear about the new outdoor field that C-Q-B has?

"full auto, frags, land mines, 2 machine gun nests with double trouble a5's, multi level buildings, a street with side walks and street lights....rainbow 6 and modern warfare 2 in your own backyard!"

Quoted from Romulus on the C-Q-B forum.

Sounds really interesting, they are going to post up pics soon.
